Unless you've been in a closet for the past 5 to 10 years, internet marketing has only been growing in popularity. In this articles we'll cover just a few good online marketing tips you can put to good use right away.
PPC, or pay per click, advertising is still a very powerful form of advertising, and basically you just pay for your clicks. The most difficult competition is found at Google, Yahoo, and Bing, and it's that way because PPC is entirely based on your performance. One thing we always tell people is to go to the smaller PPC neworks, and what you'll find is less competition and cheaper ad rates. You should look into them because they are numerous, in the hundreds, and you definitely can make excellent money with them. Of course they are not as complex as the major engines, so it's really pretty easy to get set-up and going. You'll be able to find targeted traffic for your sites, plus they are not very expensive to use.
Ok, so now we'd like to talk about the holy grail of marketing - SEO, or search engine optimization. Before you think we're talking about the usual SEO stuff, what we want to go over is involves particular methods for capturing the attention of your target audience. This involves going after those keywords that don't have much demand, as in, they don't receive a high search volume.
Why those keywords, you ask? The first thing is because they have low competition, which means they are easy to rank for. It's certainly possible to find keywords with a noticeable amount of monthly volume but less than the really competitive terms. These phrases are commonly called long tail phrases because of the number of words in them, about 3 or 4. The thing about these phrases is they reflect a more specific intent with the reader. Also, these terms are called "buying" phrases because they just reflect a more specific level of intent. It's best to view this as a longer term approach, but it's one that can bring you traffic for a long time. In time you can have many thousands of visitors without buying advertising. However you need to learn how to do this properly, and proper choice of keywords is critical in this process.
One area is Craigslist, and while some marketers have gotten away from it, this huge classified ad site can still produce some nice results. You will have to continue posting your ads, trying different ad copy, etc, until you can find the right amount of conversions. One really great thing about this site is that you can get exposure for your ads. The upshot about all of this is that IM, or internet marketing, need not be so terrible and hard if you take the time to learn about it.
